Live Production Accounting Professional

See yourself providing support to the Live Production operation’s management during the annual profit plan process to set performance and cost standards for all departments. Envision accurately accounting all costs of feed and feed sales with all the feed purchasing, manufacturing and sales systems within Jennie-O Turkey Store.
Primary Functions
- Review financial reports and create budgets for all of the feed or ingredient departments
- Provide management with weekly, period, and annual financial, standard cost variance, and yield reports
- Oversee the contract grower payment and settlement process under the term of the contracts in place
- Provide period end inventory reports for farms, feed mills, hatcheries, breeders and various support departments
- Ensure that the procedures for all areas of responsibility are documented, included in the SOX flow charts and documents, and that those procedures are kept current and followed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively: be sure all company policies and processes are understood by office staff while making sure each person receives adequate training to meet the objectives assigned to their jobs
- Timely follow through: complete the annual profit plan for the live production areas and data collection/reporting projects within a defined schedule
- Drives change: develop and implement process improvements
- Increase skill sets: be fully knowledgeable of the accounting systems used by live production to provide accounting oversight for all live production departments
- Inspire employees: participate on cross functional teams to help resolve issues that arise during the fiscal year
- Time management: organize and utilize time effectively to allow for completion of projects and duties and attendance in meetings all within the specified date and time
Training
Your initial training will include Continual Improvement Process training which will provide a common language and understanding of our commitment to meeting agreed-upon customer expectations 100% of the time. You will also receive New Hire Orientation which will provide an introduction to:
