Turkey Marinade Recipe

  • 1 JENNIE-O® whole turkey, fresh or thawed, neck, giblets and gravy packet removed, if applicable.
  • ¾ cup dry red wine.
  • ⅓ cup orange juice.
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil.
  • 4 shallots, chopped.
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled and minced.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, minced.
  • 1½ tablespoons fresh oregano, minced.

Step 1

With a fork, pierce random holes over the turkey.


Step 2

Place the turkey in large, plastic cooking bag.


Step 3

In small bowl, whisk together red wine, orange juice, olive oil, shallots, garlic, rosemary and oregano.


Step 4

Pour marinade over turkey.


Step 5

Close bag securely and place in a pan.


Step 6

Refrigerate several hours or overnight.


Step 7

Remove turkey from marinade and prepare turkey.


Step 8

Discard marinade. Do not use marinade to baste.


Step 9

If you want to baste remove ⅛ cup of marinade from bowl prior to pouring in bag and reserve for later use.
